Resources from the Holy Father's Apostolic Journey to the U.S.

Hi everyone! What an amazing week we recently experienced with the Holy Father on U.S. soil! If you are interested in reading any of the words spoken by Pope Benedict XVI during his Apostolic Journey, here is a handy link to all of his speeches, homilies, addresses, etc. : http://www.ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/b16usjrnindx.HTM. Please note that they are in printable format too in case you prefer to print them off to read. Papal Mass - Washington, D.C. 4-17-08

What a beautiful, blessed day in Washington, D.C. with our Holy Father offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!! Thanks to Bishop Rhoades' very kind invitation, all of my fellow Deacon Candidates and our wives had the opportunity for this unforgettable experience! Although we were in the upper deck of the Washington Nationals' stadium, the pictures I took off of the excellent "Jumbotron" came out quite well. Enjoy!

I think that Carla's coat is just a shade or two off of a monsignor's cassock!

Tom Boucek, no doubt searching for that evasive hot dog vendor; Phil Ladoucer thinks he caught him on camera; and Tim Shultis is supporting both of them with prayer!

Jeff, she's write a short newspaper article not a novel!

What a happy, contented couple!

A Church in a stadium . . . no errors, foul balls, or bench-clearing brawls to be seen this day!

Our own Shepherd! Way to go Bishop Rhoades!

And here's Father Sullivan too!

The Popemobile makes its way around the stadium to the enormous cheers of the assembled faithful!

The procession begins:

The Holy Father venerates the altar and the Holy Mass proceeds:

Placido Domingo sings beatifully and then greets the Holy Father and kisses his ring in a sign of true reverence:

The Mass concludes, the Pope again venerates the altar, and the closing procession begins:

What a blessed, grace-filled, holy, and memorable day! Thank you Holy Father, and thank you Bishop Rhoades for this opportunity!
