YARD WORK AS VIEWED FROM HEAVEN

Overheard in a conversation between God and St. Francis:

God: Francis, you know all about gardens and nature; what in the world
is going on down there in the U.S.? What happened to the dandelions,
violets,thistles and the stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect
no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil,
withstand drought, and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the
long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honeybees, and flocks of
songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of color by now. All I see
are patches of green.

St. Francis: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. They are called
the Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers "weeds" and went
to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass.

God: Grass? But it is so boring, it's not colorful. It doesn't attract
butterflies, bees or birds, only grubs and sod worms. It's
temperamental with temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want
grass growing?

St. Francis: Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it has grown a little,
they cut it....sometimes two times a week.

God: They cut it? Do they bale it like hay?

St Francis: Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags.

God: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?

St. Francis: No sir, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.

GOD: Now let me get this straight. . . they fertilize it to make it
grow and when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away?

St. Francis: Yes, sir.

God: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut
back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth
and saves them a lot of work.

St. Francis: You aren't going to believe this Lord, but when the grass
stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water
it so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it.

God: What nonsense! At least they kept some of the trees. That was a
sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow
leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the
autumn they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep the
moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. Plus, as they
rot, the leaves become compost to enhance the soil. It's a natural
circle of life.

St. Francis: You'd better sit down, Lord. As soon as the leaves fall,
the Suburbanites rake them into great piles and pay to have them
hauled away.

God: No way! What do they do to protect the shrubs and tree roots in
the winter to keep the soil moist and loose?

St Francis: After throwing the leaves away, they go out and buy
something called mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in
place of the leaves.

God: And where do they get this mulch?

St.. Francis: They cut down the trees and grind them up to make mulch.

God: Enough! I don't want to think about this anymore. Saint
Catherine, you're in charge of the arts. What movie have you scheduled
for us tonight?

St. Catherine: "Dumb and Dumber," Lord. It's a really stupid movie about. . .

God: Never mind--I think I just heard the whole story from Saint Francis!

Another Desecration of the Holy Eucharist

An excommunicated woman in Austria, Mrs. Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger who masquerades as a Catholic bishop, dressed the part at a Mass at St. Peter in Linz on June 28, 2009.

When it came time for Holy Communion, she not only had the nerve to get into the communion line, she conveniently ended up in the line that would go up to (real) Bishop Ludwig Schwarz. He of course followed Canon Law and denied the imposter communion.

However, as evidence of the audacity and arrogance of such pretenders, Mrs. Mayr-Lumetzberger found a way to self-communicate! That's right, she took it upon herself to steal the Sacred Body of Christ directly from the ciborium that the Bishop was holding!

And to think how concerned we were at a recent Mass where a visiting out-of-state validly ordained Deacon self-communicated! This display, aside from being completely unlawful both in Civil Law and in Canon Law, clearly shows how these people consider themselves to be above the law, and knowing more than the divinely created Magisterium of Holy Mother Church!

She's no different, and in many respects very much worse than the twisted and sick Satan worshipers who try to "score" a consecrated host to use at their satanic rituals. At least they are not claiming to be something they are not.

This incident prompts me to question whether it is time for the USCCB to reconsider permitting communion in the hand (with the Vatican's approval). If they were on their knees receiving the host on their tongues, the Blessed Sacrament would have been better protected from this outrageous abuse!

"Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine [herself], and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on [herself.]" 1 Cor. 11:27-29

Oh wait! Silly me. That probably doesn't apply to her!

Doubt you saw this on CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox!!!

I'm guessing that like me, you didn't see this on CNN's "Breaking News," nor on MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC or even FOX. But they didn't hesitate to stuff Michael Jackson down our throats. This "real hero" gets nothing, but look out if Brittany Spears shaves her head or if two men are trying to get "married" somewhere.

Do you also feel as though the entire world is completely upside down? Whatever is good and true is at the bottom, whatever is a perversion of what is good and true reigns supreme today. Satan takes all that is good and perverts it for those who accept his lies. Jesus makes all things new!!!

A Message for All Young People Today - Share it with them!

If you know the story of St. Maria Goretti, whose Feast Day is today, July 6th, you know that her sexual predator and murderer was a young man of 20 named Alessandro Serenelli. But do you know what became of him?

Alessandro was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 30 years hard labor. He initially did not accept responsibility for his crime and lashed out against anyone who came in contact with him, including a priest who went to visit him soon after he was imprisoned. Then one night he had a vision of Maria Goretti visiting him in his cell and presenting him with a bouquet of flowers! From that moment forward, Alessandro experienced and lived out a complete conversion of heart.

He became a model prisoner and was released after serving 27 years. His first act was to seek the forgiveness of Maria's mother. He was accepted into a Capuchin monastery as a tertiary and worked in their gardens. Miraculously Alessandro was present at St. Peter's in Rome when Maria Goretti was canonized a saint crying tears of joy.

Alessandro Serenelli died on May 6th, 1970 in the Capuchin convent of Macerata. But what of his legacy and his lesson for the ages? Here's the gift he left to us on May 5, 1961:

"I'm nearly 80 years old. I'm about to depart.

"Looking back at my past, I can see that in my early youth, I chose a bad path which led me to ruin myself.

"My behavior was influenced by print, mass-media and bad examples which are followed by the majority of young people without even thinking. And I did the same. I was not worried.

"There were a lot of generous and devoted people who surrounded me, but I paid no attention to them because a violent force blinded me and pushed me toward a wrong way of life.

"When I was 20 years-old, I committed a crime of passion. Now, that memory represents something horrible for me. Maria Goretti, now a Saint, was my good Angel, sent to me through Providence to guide and save me. I still have impressed upon my heart her words of rebuke and of pardon. She prayed for me, she interceded for her murderer. Thirty years of prison followed.

"If I had been of age, I would have spent all my life in prison. I accepted to be condemned because it was my own fault.

"Little Maria was really my light, my protectress; with her help, I behaved well during the 27 years of prison and tried to live honestly when I was again accepted among the members of society. The Brothers of St. Francis, Capuchins from Marche, welcomed me with angelic charity into their monastery as a brother, not as a servant. I've been living with their community for 24 years, and now I am serenely waiting to witness the vision of God, to hug my loved ones again, and to be next to my Guardian Angel and her dear mother, Assunta.

"I hope this letter that I wrote can teach others the happy lesson of avoiding evil and of always following the right path, like little children. I feel that religion with its precepts is not something we can live without, but rather it is the real comfort, the real strength in life and the only safe way in every circumstance, even the most painful ones of life."

We can see from Alessandro's testimony that it was the negative influences of the secular world that drove him to commit his deplorable crime against little Maria. He referred specifically to the print and mass-media as affecting him in such a way that it drove him to commit his crime of passion.

Take a moment and consider the substantially more negative influences that pound our children virtually every one of their waking moments. Alessandro had basic stuff that was impacting his world at that time. What he didn't have was MTV, VH1, MySpace, Facebook, text messaging, "sex-ting," e-mail, limitless pornography, raunchy TV shows, sex-focused advertising, etc., etc., etc.!!!

Satan has taken temptation to a new level with our children to the point where one truly has to wonder why he has ramped up his efforts? We know that the gates of hell will never prevail, so we ask what the cause is of Satan's desperation? Is he sensing that this is his last opportunity to "win" as many of our young people's souls as possible before Christ triumphantly returns? Or are we simply permitting him to win the battle for souls at this moment in time?

Testimonies like Alessandro Serenelli's are invaluable tools given to us to help teach our youth about the rotten fruit of a life influenced by the garbage of our secular world. Such trash is like a bacteria that invades one's body and leads to suffering and death. It seems like great fun at the time, but as with all sin, once the pretty covering falls off, all that is left is dissapointment, despair, and payment for a life of "fun" in the secular world to one's spiritual detriment.

Alessandro's lesson to all of us is that it is only through a life lived in the grace of God through His only Son Jesus Christ that we arrive at TRUE JOY (not to be confused with fleeting "happiness" found through material goods and the trappings of the secular world.) How many times do we need to grasp at THINGS, PEOPLE, OURSELVES, only to find that they do not provide us with lasting joy? That is for a reason! It is to be clear evidence to us that we are not meant for this world for all eternity. These THINGS are simply to serve as examples of goodness, perfection, beauty, and truth that we ONLY find in Christ!!! They are meant to drive us towards Christ, not replace Him!

On this Feast Day of St. Maria Goretti, let us pray in thanksgiving through her intercession for her example of purity, chastity, and faithfulness in the face of negative societal pressures.

US BISHOPS APPROVE MASS FOR LIFE

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, JUNE 19, 2009 (Zenit.org).- A text for a Mass in Thanksgiving for the Gift of Human Life received overwhelming approval from the U.S. bishops' conference, which also voted to include it in the Roman Missal.

A press release from the conference reported that the Mass received 183 votes, with only three deciding against the text and three abstaining, at a biannual conference meeting taking place in San Antonio.

The U.S. adaptation of the text to the missal was supported by 179 bishops, with one voting against and one abstaining.

The communiqué reported that these items are part of the ongoing adaptation of a new English translation of the Roman Missal. The conclusions of the meeting will be sent to the Vatican for a final approval.

The Mass in Thanksgiving for Life was originally proposed in 1990 by Cardinal John O'Connor of New York, who founded the Sisters of Life and died in 2000.

The Spanish language Lectionary, the Leccionario, was also approved by the majority, with 182 voting for it and one against.

Barack "I'm opposed to abortion but I want to make it possible for more of them than ever to be performed (with your tax dollars)" Obama.

Not that this is CNN quality Breaking News or anything (wait, isn't everything on CNN now "Breaking News?"), but I'll now add Al "I invented the Internet"/"Global Warming"/"the sky is falling" Gore to the list.

A Tale of Two Houses

House #1 A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. 1) NUDITY
I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when
a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark
naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from
the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'


2) OPINIONS
On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note
from his mother. The note read, 'The opinions expressed by this child

3) KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her
struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer
the phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now.
She's hitting the bottle.'


4) MORE NUDITY
A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's
locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with
ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in

little boy before?'


5) POLICE # 1
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was
interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at
my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued
writing the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask
the police. Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well,
then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please
tie my shoe?'


6) POLICE # 2
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the
station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking,
and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back
there?' he asked.

'It sure is,' I replied.

Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van.
Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'


7) ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly
shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds.
She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age,
particularly the canes, walkers & wheelchairs. One day I found her
staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself
for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and
whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'


8) DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw
her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that
suit.'

'And why not, darling?'

'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'


9) DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister
heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt.
Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin.
Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small
box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal
of the deceased.

The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with
sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father
always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into
the hole he goooes.' (I want this line used at my funeral!)


10) SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. 'I'm just
wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write,
and they won't let me talk!'


11) BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he
fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the
Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old
leaf that had been pressed in between the pages.

'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out.

'What have you got there, dear?'

With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's
Adams underwear!'

Wanna be a monk?

Remember . . . my hilarious Uncle sent this to me (blame him!)

A man is driving down the road and breaks down near a monastery. He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?

The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, and even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound; a sound like no other that he has ever heard. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, We can't tell you because you're not a monk.

 

The man is disappointed but thanks them anyway and goes about his merry way. Some years later, the same man breaks down in front of the same monastery.  

The monks again accept him, feed him, and even fix his car..

That night, he hears the same strange mesmerizing sound that he had heard years earlier.

The next morning, he asks what the sound was, but the monks reply,

We can't tell you because you're not a monk.

The man says, all right, all right. I'm dying to know.

If the only way I can find out what that sound was is to become a monk, how do I become a monk?

The monks reply, you must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of sand pebbles. When you find these numbers, you will become a monk.

The man sets about his task. Some forty-five years later, he returns and knocks on the door of the monastery. He says, I have travelled the earth and devoted my life to the task demanded and have found what you had asked for. There are 371,145,236,284,232 blades of grass and 231,281,219,999,129,382 sand pebbles on the earth.

The monks reply, congratulations, you are correct, and you are now considered a monk 

We shall now show you the way to the sound.

The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, the sound is behind that door.

The man reaches for the knob, but the door is locked. He asks, May I have the key ?

The monks give him the key, and he opens the door.

Behind the wooden door is another door made of stone.. The man requests the key to the stone door.

The monks give him the key, and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. He demands another key from the monks, who provide it. Behind that door is another door, this one made of sapphire.

 

 

And so it went on until the man had gone through doors of emerald,...

...silver, topaz, and amethyst.

Finally, the monks say, This is the key to the last door .

The man is relieved to be at the end. He unlocks the door, turns the knob, and behind that door he is astonished to find the source of that strange sound. It is truly an amazing and unbelievable sight 

.. But I can't tell you what it is because you're not a monk.

"Fertilized egg" of homo sapien female is destroyed by a licensed physician at the request of the woman herself.  The "human egg" is not a protected species under the laws of the United States. Consequently there is no media outrage, television coverage, or calls to convict the physician or the woman.

Wow!  How low we have sunk as a society, as a species, as fellow human beings.  Abortion?  That's the best we have to offer a woman who is usually being pressured by people or circumstances to kill her offspring?  What a sad commentary on our intelligence, on our morals, and on our charity.

1. They proudly make routine major donations to Planned Parenthood.

2. They proudly support EMBRYONIC stem cell research.

Here's the support for these facts, but the Internet is full of evidence of this and they certainly do not deny these facts.

Some deny it, but there is ample evidence that abortion can cause breast cancer.  In the face of this evidence, even if disputed by some, why in the heck would a group whose stated purpose is to find a cure for breast cancer contribute significant dollars to the largest, boldest abortion provider in the world?  Makes one wonder what really is going on there!

Why would an organization which claims to want to save the lives of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer be a proponent of embryonic stem cell research which necessarily results in the death of a human being?  Makes no sense whatsoever!

Have they forgotten that THE ENDS NEVER JUSTIFY THE MEANS?

There are plenty of other very good breast cancer support groups out there who could use your financial support for the great work they do.  We love our women!  We hurt when they hurt due to breast cancer.  However, we simply refuse to toss our morals and the natural law into the waste basket due to misguided attempts by self-proclaimed "do-gooders."  You're smarter than that people!  Don't be taken by their guile and tactics, regardless of how "feel good" they make it seem.  We are always called to do proper research and ask the right questions to have a PROPERLY formed conscience.
