Pill inventor slams ... pill

"Eighty five year old Carl Djerassi the Austrian chemist who helped invent the contraceptive pill now says that his co-creation has led to a 'demographic catastrophe.'"

The article notes the negative impact on population figures, the negative effects on the environment, and the corresponding adverse impact on male fertility. In addition, the article points out that research showed that the pill "worked in many cases with a genuinely ... abortive effect." Unfortunately this still remains unknown by so many people, including many Catholics, even though it is a fact that is admitted by manufacturers of the pill right in their product inserts!

The article also very astutely points out that the scientific findings "confirm the prophetic nature of Pope Paul VI's encyclical on artificial contraception," Humanae Vitae. Sadly, that incredible document was virtually ignored by not only so many practicing Catholics, but even by some Bishops and priests. Many of the Bishops who originally opposed Humanae Vitae have since recanted, apologized and sought forgiveness, but the damage was done in that they led astray so many of the faithful. It certainly appears as though today's younger generations are "getting it" and are accepting the clear teachings of Humanae Vitae. So how does the pill have an abortive effect you ask? In many instances, the pill "works with an anti-implantation effect; that is, abortifacient [effect], because it expels a small human embryo." The article points out that, "this anti-implantation effect is acknowledged in scientific literature, which shamelessly speaks of an embryo loss rate. Curiously, however, this information does not reach the public at large." The sad fact is that so many women are being blindly led into aborting their own offspring without even knowing it, and without even having been told that it was a possibility by taking the pill. How sinful and evil!
